Categories

These guidelines are divided into the following categories:

  • Module Guidelines: Requirements necessary for modules to pass the PrestaShop validation process and be listed on the PrestaShop Marketplace.
  • Module BO Theming Guidelines: A guide to help you properly handle module theming and ensure your module aligns with the different Back Office versions of PrestaShop.
  • Core Guidelines: Requirements necessary for stores to maintain compatibility with PrestaShop Core.
  • Enterprise-Specific Rules: Guidelines only required for stores flagged as PrestaShop Enterprise stores.

Tolerance Levels

They are categorized into the following tolerance levels:

  • 🚨 Mandatory: Guidelines that must be strictly adhered to. If not, the advantages associated with PrestaShop Enterprise (such as protection against security vulnerabilities, seamless upgrades, etc.) are no longer guaranteed.

  • ⚠️ Strongly Recommended: Guidelines that should be followed most of the time due to their significant benefits and impact. They might become mandatory in the near future.

  • ✅ Best Practice: Guidelines that are recommended for optimal performance, but not mandatory, due to some technical limitations or high complexity.
